Being a teenage pal of Steve, I came into contact with Peggy and Terry in the early 70's and was a frequent visitor in those early years. I have not seen Peggy for quite a while and so the image I have of this lady is from those times. A lady in her prime full of bustling energy and spirit. There was very little doubt during a visit that you would get to know Peggy's opinion, whether that was in respect of the items making the headlines on that day or about her son's choice of music! She did have a ready smile and always made me feel like a welcome guest. That said, if I actually had a difference of view with Peggy I doubt whether it would have been my view that prevailed! As the years passed, the visits included Carol who went on to be my wife. Carol's contact with Peggy also included time spent as colleagues working at Essex County Council in Chelmsford. The memory of Peggy in this context is of a lady on a mission: a powerhouse in the offices and corridors of County Hall. God bless you Peggy
